Watt d'Or 2014

About

In collaboration with the Swiss Federal Office for Energy and Northeastern University, swissnex Boston is proud to bring to Boston a selection of Switzerland’s most innovative energy projects that have been honored with the Watt d’Or award.

Established in 2007, this award given by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy recognizes outstanding Swiss energy projects that offer a significant benefit for society. The Watt d’Or recognizes inspiring projects that contribute towards building a more sustainable future through energy innovation in the following five categories:

  1. Society (organizations, individual players, schools, public sector, joint ventures)
  2. Energy technologies, systems and appliances
  3. Renewable energy
  4. Energy-efficient mobility (vehicles, mobility management concepts)
  5. Buildings and space

The public Watt d’Or exhibition on Swiss Energy Excellence, which will be on display at Northeastern University from July 11 to September 14, 2014, will showcase projects and initiatives that have been honored with a Watt d’Or award. 25 of the nearly 50 projects that have been recognized with the award during the last 8 years will be highlighted in this traveling exhibition.

In addition, a catalog of the Watt d’Or Exhibition will be available.

The exhibition will be officially inaugurated by Swiss Federal Councillor and Energy Minister, Doris Leuthard. In the context of Ms. Leuthard’s delegation’s visit, swissnex Boston is organizing the Swiss-USEnergy Innovation Days from July 9 – 12, 2014 with the Swiss-US Energy Innovation Seminar taking place on Friday, July 11, 2014. This gathering is an opportunity for Swiss and American governmental, academic, entrepreneurial, and industrial representatives to discuss challenges and solutions, as a means by which to strengthen the relationships and transatlantic collaborations between Massachusetts and Switzerland.
